29.04.20 Short story starters

29.04.20
I have been writing some short story's this afternoon and I would like to share them with you here are some examples of my work, in the comments write which short story was your favourite.

Creature From The Deep
It came from the sea, calmly at first. An enormous, Slithiring tentacle slowly oozing its way over the top of the sea wall, exploring the metal and concrete shapes with suckers the size of your front door . Then, as more and more people came, and shreiks and cries of alarm filled the air, the creature became angry. All hell broke loose....... In an almighty tangle of limbs and water, buildings and people, the beast came violently exploding out of the frothy water. The normally sturdy metal supports of the buildings groaned under the extreme weight of gigantic tentacles crushing hem. Panic! Complete panic set in. Everyone wondered. But where had the creature come from? What did it want? How could anybody stop it? There wasn't any time for people to think. Only to run.....

Controlling The Weather
Ever since she was little, Emily could control the weather. Whenever she felt sad it would rain. When she was happy the sun was out, if she felt angry it would be boiling hot outside. If Emily was confused it would be cloudy and if she had an idea lightning struck....

The Glass House
Silently, Sarah pressed the switch and took a deep breath. Colours filled the house as beams of light hit the coloured panes of glass. It was just as she hoped for, just as she had imagined. Carefully, turned  full circle to take in the rainbow world she had created...

Empty Boats
Crystal clear waters were home to the vast collection of vessels. If it wasn't for the peeling paint and faded fishing nets, you couldn't tell that these boats had years of history hidden in their beams. I breathed deeply, filling my lungs with the fresh air that surronded me. I looked carefully at the biggest of the boats and my mind began to wander. Who owned it? Where had it sailed to? What sort of memories were hidden amongsest the ropes and nets?

Field Of Flames
It seemed like and impossible task. Keeping each lantern alight took focus and determination from the whole army of volenteers. Waves of orange and yellow danced in the breeze as the sparkling sea of light took over the horizon.  As far as the eye could see, flickering flames shone upon this special place. They were almost ready. It was almost time.....

The Life Of A Snail
Delicous. It was simply delicous. She very rarely came across a strawberry, but when ever she did she always made the most of it. Chewing through the sweet, juicy flesh, she savoured every mouthful. Now, though, she was full, and slowly eased herself (shell and all) out of the hole she had made in the side of the strawberry. It was time to explore another part of the garden....

The Strange Ship
Shrouded in a veil of sea mist, the ghoustly galleon through the black ocean waves. One minute you saw her, the next you didn't. She was like no other ship. Blink, and you missed her....

Thank you for reading this🙋

  1. Kia ora Georgia,

It is great to see you have written some more short stories! I absoloutely love reading these. My personal favourite has to be Creature From the Deep as it gives such a clear image in my head of what's happening. What was your inspiration for these stories?
I also really like Empty Boats as I love exploring under water and have dreamed about finding old ship wrecks like my dad has! How cool would it be to see one under water!

Ka pai, Georgia! I am really impressed with your post and am incredibly proud of your hard work and dedication to your learning. I have given yiou a digital AWHI.
