Week 1.
Day 4: Making A Racket
Tell us 3 things you have learned from watching these videos about Serena and Venus Williams and 1 question you would ask them.
Here are my 3 things I've learnt from watching the videos and my question:
1. Serena Williams earned over $80 million during her career, winning 23 grand slams. But the highest paid male Novak Djokovic has earned over $100 million despite only winning 12 grand slams.
2. Serena Williams is the highest paid women and Venus taking 5th place. But out of all paid athletes Serena ranks 51 place behind 5 male tennis players. Serena made $84 million less than Roger Federer.
3. Most tornuments between a male and female that the pay is roughly equal. But then there's off the court things such as endorsment deals, but there's a bit to go but as long as women keep supporting and men are advicating for it some things might change in the future.
Here's my question:
1. Do you think that we will soon get to a place where women women will get equal pay?
